W09 Reflection: Relevance & Quality Score

W09 Reflection:  Relevance & Quality Score

As we continue to move forward with the launching of our businesses, we directed our focus this week to quality scores and relevance.  I very much enjoyed learning about quality scores and how to focus on expected click through rates, ad relevance, and landing page experience.  The two elements I am most interested in is ad relevance and landing page experiences.  Our ads really need to be an accurate description of what service we are rendering and must lead to an attractive landing page that matches what we are highlighting in our ad.

As a class, we saw a case where the ad was highlighting and promoting lots, while the landing page was focusing on homes for sale.  I think it is very important that the two match.  This will allow us to attack the correct audience and lead that audience to a call to action on our landing page.

I have actually thought about this a lot this week.  I am currently running and operating Bacana Beach Volleyball Club which focuses on welcoming all athletes at any level to come to an open armed environment to learn and enhance their beach game.  For the purpose of this class, however, I am opening an online store that will be on my club’s website and need to be strategic on my Google Ad.  I am wanting to promote my store and merchandise on my Google Ad, but my homepage is geared everything about my club, which needs to remain as is.  So, I will need to figure out the best way to navigate this situation.
